The Trenton Rotary Club prohibits large coolers*, bottles, pets, skateboards, bicycles, rollerblades, or alcoholic beverages brought in by the public (can only be purchased) in the event area.

Noncompliance may result in corrective action.
*Coolers subject to inspection.


Is there parking in the park?
Yes, parking is available. We ask for a $5 donation to offset the costs of the races. You can also park at the various shuttle stops (at no charge) and you can view that information here.

We are musicians, and we would like to submit a press kit for consideration to play at your event. How is that handled?
We have received NUMEROUS requests to play at our event, and all entertainment has been booked for 2011. We are not accepting any further submissions for the 2011 event, but we appreciate your interest and support.

NOTE: In the event we need bands for 2012, we will make that announcement on this site as well as on our Facebook page.

Will there be fireworks at the 2011 event?
YES, the fireworks, sponsored by Emagine Theaters, will be at 10:00 Saturday night, July 23. Please arrive early.

How much does it cost to see any of the musical entertainment for Friday night or Saturday night?
There is NO CHARGE to see any of the musical entertainment.

There seems to be confusion about a $35 charge for Friday night.
There is a "tastefest" on Friday that the public is welcome to attend for $35 (click here for more). However, after the tastefest, there is NO CHARGE for admission except a $5 parking donation request.

Beginning 2011 season, there will be NO REFUNDS for any Taste of the Races Friday Night tickets purchased.

What kinds of boats race at the event?
Our event runs Outboard Performance Craft (SST45 and SST120), Stock Outboards, and Superlight Tunnel Boats. You can learn more here.

How can I better understand how the races are judged?

Can I bring food, drinks to the park?
Yes, non-alcoholic beverages are allowed but no bottles. Small-personal coolers are also allowed. All coolers are subject to inspection, however. Food must be purchased at the event.

Is there a car show this year?
No, the car show has been discontinued. Due to the many cars shows that are simultaneously happening in our area during this weekend, we had decided it was time to retire the car show.

Can I bring alcoholic beverages to the park?
No. They may be purchased at the event and consumed within the designated (main) area.

Are dogs allowed in the park during the event?
Because of the large number of attendees, animals are not allowed at the event for health reasons. Any animals brought to the event will be asked to be removed from the race area.

NOTE: Dogs are allowed in other areas of the park where the event is not taking place. Please be respectful of the racers who camp inside the park during the event.

Is there a charge to enter the park?
We are asking for a $5 donation that will be used to offset event expenses. Other than that, there are no charges for the event (outside of the charity Friday Night Party).

Are the tents available to the public that overlooking the water?
MOST TENTS are corporate-sponsored tents and are for the sponsors and their invited guests only. HOWEVER, we have one public tent at the North end of the row of tents for public use, the food tents are public, and there will be two small tents at the fence in the Rose Garden for public use.

What kind of alcoholic beverages are available?
Budweiser, Bud Light, Mikes Hard Lemonade, wine.

What other beverages are available?
We have concession areas with standard soft drinks and bottled water also available for purchase.

Is there food for purchase?
Yes. There will be numerous vendors offering burgers, pizza, etc.

How much are the Friday Night Party Tickets? Where can I get them?
Tickets are $35 in advance, $40 at the door. You can get them for $30 in blocks of ten too. To obtain tickets, follow this link.

Will young children enjoy the event?
Absolutely! There will be bouncy inflatables, games, face painting and more for younger children.
